My Face Masks

A few quick reviews of my face masks and the all important question:
Would I repurchase?

The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is a massively hyped product but in all honesty I haven't used it for ages. It's a really thick moisturising mask that I apply before bedtime onto my cleansed face and then by morning my skin's soaked it all up providing a plump, smooth and well moisturised complexion. I used to use it once a week and loved it but I just don't feel like my skin needs it at the moment. It would be perfect for dry skins though and it smells amazing :)
It's feels a bit too heavy for me so I wouldn't repurchase.

The Origins Clear Improvement Mask is one of my favourites. It's a great clay mask that really works deep down into the skin. Once dry, to the point where I can't move my face, I rinse it off and my skin is always so much brighter and clearer. If I'm having a bad skin day I always reach for this one.
Repurchase? Definitely.

The Origins Out of Trouble Mask is one of the first clay masks I ever used. It would be great for oily skins as it is very mattifying but I would say I have more of a 'normal' skin type at the moment so this is a bit drying for me. This used to be my favourite mask until I tried the Origins Clear Improvement mask which edges it for me for targeting spots and clearing up problem skin.
Out of Trouble is a good mask but I prefer others, so for that reason I wouldn't buy it again.

I bought the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask when everyone was raving about it on blogs ages ago - I always cave into the hype! It is a chemically exfoliating mask designed to renew the skin cells for a glowing complexion. Personally I don't really see a difference when I use this mask. I've given it a good go but I think either dry skins or skins showing signs of ageing would see more of a benefit from the exfoliating properties of this mask.
Repurchase? No.

I bought the Fresh Rose Face Mask last year in New York as I'd always wanted to try Fresh products but they're hard to get hold of in the UK outside of London. This is such a lovely mask to use and so different to my usual clay masks. It is a jelly texture with rose petals and is so calming on the skin. This always leaves my skin feeling softer, brighter and clearer and is perfect for getting rid of any redness. This would be a great alternative for angry, blemish-prone skins if you find clay masks too drying. It smells heavenly too!
I will definitely buy this again :)

Now for my favourite mask of all time, the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask! I love this brand so much and this product's a real winner :) I apply quite a hefty layer onto clean dry skin and it makes my face really tingle, which always makes me feel as if a product is really working! Once dry, I wipe the clay off with a damp cloth revealing baby soft clean skin. The only thing I would say about this mask is it really brings any nasties to the surface although I'd expect that from a clay mask anyway and I suppose that's the point of 'deep cleansing'.  In the long run I've found my skin is so much clearer since I started using this. If you're prone to blemishes and the cost doesn't put you off I would definitely recommend this.
Already repurchased!

Finally, I use 2 masks from Aesop - the Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque and the Chamomile Concentrate Anti Blemish Masque both of which I find quite similar. They're both clay masks designed to deep cleanse the skin and I've found they both work well to keep any impurities and blemishes at bay. Comparing the 2 I would say the chamomile one is like a supped up version of the parsley seed one - thicker in texture, more potent yet harsher on the skin. The parsley seed one would be ideal for dry or sensitive skins but for for those spotty days I will be repurchasing the Chamomile offering.

Do you use any of these face masks? Which are your favourite face masks?

  8. My skin is so dry that anything that soaks in overnight is ideal for me. My absolute favourite is the Clarins Thirst Quenching Hydra Mask. its the only thing that sorts out my skin when it has that tight feeling after cleansing.
