This is the first time I've been on the internet in a week!
Last Tuesday my passport finally arrived after what feels like months of waiting so me and my boyfriend immediately hot-footed it down to the travel agents to book a last minute holiday to Tunisia and 12 hours later we were on our way. Talk about last minute.
I wrote this post before setting off and was planning on posting it while I was away but when we arrived I couldn't get any internet access where we stayed. It's only now I realise how much I actually rely on the web!
It may sound sad but not having the internet is an absolute nightmare for me
No blogging . . . no e-mails . . . plus I'm always checking twitter on my phone when I have a spare minute or googling random facts!
Not to mention I have a mountain of other blogs I need to catch up on (that's my night sorted)
I actually got really excited logging on for the first time after such a long wait. Haha.
Is it just me or do you kind of feel like you're cut off from the world when your on holiday?
Although I suppose that's the point!

Yeah yeah, I know it's Summer so I should really be swooning over cutout sandals and flip-flops, but the black chunky boot is the one fashion item I can't help but love the whole year round.
I want the Topshop ones but I only spotted them the day after I bought some Topshop Studded Arabels so I feel like I can't get justify getting them now! I absolutely love the oil slick effect detail on the 'To Be Announced' boots at Solestuck - they're probably my perfect boots (if it wasn't for the price tag!) I've always liked the style of Vegabond boots, they're just the right side of chunky but still feminine.

I am currently in the departure lounge and have got about half an hour before my flight but I'm so looking forward to going home and having a proper pot of Yorkshire tea :)
I really miss my home comforts!
I have some holiday inspired outfits to post over the next few days so I can't wait to get to work on those.
Wooooooo I'm coming home!

Mint and Metallics

Outfit of the Day
skirt: asos (sale)
t-shirt: topman (the boyfs)
necklace and boots: topshop
bag: zatchels

Face of the Day

I have been using Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning as my primer of choice for the past month or so and have found it an absolute dream to use - it glides on so smoothly and the tanning element gives my skin such a beautiful glow which is perfect for Summer, not to mention my make up really does last when I use this. Clarins really can do no wrong in my eyes at the moment.
I've switched from foundation to a lighter base for the Summer months and have been loving the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream, (full review HERE) it feels so light on the skin and looks natural without compromising on coverage. I use 'very light' (the lightest shade) which is perfect for us pale girls and the SPF 30 is more than welcome with all the sun we've been getting recently.
I used a dab of YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes and Benefit Boi-ing Concealer on a few imperfections before reaching for a new addition to my make up bag, the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder. I've wanted this for so long as I fancy trying my hand at a bit of contouring. I think it's going to take a bit of practice as I was playing with this for about half an hour today before I managed to create anything near a chiseled look - give me a few weeks and I will report back! Luckily I had my trusty highlighter Benefit High Beam on hand which I apply along my cheekbones and up onto my temples. I've been using this for years and it's the best! It's not at all glittery and it just blends flawlessly onto the skin to give a fresh, dewy glow.
I then applied a light dusting of nars 'laguna' bronzing powder across my forehead, chin and down my nose in an attempt to make my face match my body as I put a teeny bit of fake tan on last night!
Before applying my eyeshadow I prepped my eyelids using Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base which does exactly what it says on the tin - if your looking for something to keep your eyeshadow from sliding off in this heat then this is ideal. No matter how hot it is, how much you sweat etc your eye makeup will not budge - really handy little product! I'm wearing Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in 'On and On Bronze' which is surprisingly wearable for daytime despite the shimmery finish. I  completed my eyes with a slick of Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara which really does live up to the blogger hype in my opinion.
Finally I added a pop of colour with this bubble gum pink Topshop Lip Crayon in 'Clueless' which is one of my favourites at the moment, so cute and girly :)

Which makeup products are you loving for Summer?

Cult Beauty Haul

Quite often I find myself getting distracted and having a sneaky look on the Cult Beauty website (dam you mailing list!) yet this is the first time I've actually purchased anything from there, mainly because it's all so bloody expensive, though I suppose this is due to the fact that everything on the site is hailed as a 'cult' beauty product. Cult beauty doesn't only stock the classic and more 'obvious' cult products - I'm looking at you Eve Lom Cleanser and Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - but is also responsible for introducing me to a lot of brands I wouldn't have heard of otherwise. In particular I have my eye on the facial rollers by Ying Yu Rollers and the Belmacz eyeshadows.
This time round I decided to go for 2 'safe' purchases that I've heard rave reviews about, the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder and Dr. Lipp nipple 'lip' balm and I took a chance on 2 products I've heard nothing about, the Ceramic Slip cleanser and Lipstick Queen lipstick. You know when the description sounds like the kind of thing you will like so you just give it a go and hope you will discover a miracle beauty product?!
(although quite often it turns out to be awful and you've wasted your money, haaaa)

What do you think of my latest beauty goodies?
Have you ever bought anything from Cult Beauty?

Motel Savannah Cold Shoulder Dress

dress: motel
boots and sunglasses: topshop
chain harness: regal rose

I haven't been able to blog as much as I'd like recently
been so so busy!
My 2 days off last week were spent house hunting and being painted head to toe for my friends make-up course - I looked crazy but it was so much fun!
I'm free today so I'm spending my time enjoying the sun and catching up on all my favourite blogs :)
feels like the first day in ages where I can just do nothing!
I better get used to it though as I've booked next week and the week after off for Summer
I'm really hoping to get away somewhere hot but I'm waiting on my passport
hope it comes soon *fingers crossed*

I have to say this is one of my most favourite outfits I've worn for a while.
I do love Summer dressing as it's so much easier only having to think about one layer.
Though it's not often you can get away with going bare legged/armed living in England.
I absolutely love everything about this Motel dress
the shape, the length, the style, the fit
how cool are the cutout shoulders?
such a quirky addition to an otherwise simple dress.
I decided to buy it in white as I got it when Wimbledon was on and it gave me the idea to create some kind of fashionable tennis player look
but they do it in sooooo many colours
I'm seriously thinking about getting either a black or a red one too . . .
I toughened my dress up by wearing this chain harness thingy over it
I do like a not so predictable accessory
(although I must admit I was on the fence as to how wearable this would actually be)
and my boyfriends description of 'weird gothic dog lead' did make me question it . . .
I actually really like it on though and its an unusual alternative to a necklace so I'm looking forward to seeing which other ways I can style it!

Would you wear something like this?

Black and White

Black and White

white dress with black sleeves: missguided
boots: jeffrey campbell
socks: lazy oaf
ring: dixi
sunglasses: topshop
daisy dress: motel

It just dawned on me I haven't done a wishlist post for over 2 months
despite the fact I've seen about 5million things I've wanted during that time!
I really love all this stuff
it just so happens it's all black and white
a colour combination I never seem to get bored of.
How cool are both these dresses . . .
the first one is simple yet still so 'on-trend', I love the leather look sleeves!
And the print is so cute on the second one and I really like the style of it and the cap sleeves.
The cut-out boots are amazing
neeeeeed some Jeffrey Campbells!!
Imagine the little kitty socks poking out . . .
so adorable!
Ofcourse I had to add a pair of round sunnies. standard.
